Protocols for student wellness and safety
School Clinic
- Learners are strictly advised NOT TO report to school if they are not in their best health.
- A learner who is ill, with fever and/or flu, suffering from diarrhea, with fainting spell, or having contagious diseases like chicken pox, sore eyes, and foot and mouth disease should stay home and must NOT come to school until he is fully recovered.
- Minor injuries are taken care of by the school nurse by administering first aid.
- In case of a serious accident, learner's parents are right away notified through phone call for the learner to be brought to the partner hospital for immediate medical attention.
- The school clinic provides an annual medical and dental checkup to all learners administered by the school's in-house dentist and medical practitioner.
- Learner's request for medicine is not granted except for valid reasons and/or after confirming with the parents that the medicine being requested is safe for the requesting learner to take.
- The school clinic in-charge shall strictly follow the Health and Safety Contingency Flowchart for learners having or suspected of having contagious diseases like chicken pox, measles, or tested positive of Covid virus of any variant.
- Learners are sent home if their body temperature is 38-degree Celsius and above.
- The school clinic beds are strictly for the use of referred sick learners only.
- The school clinic is constantly cleaned and disinfected.
School Cafeteria
- Learners are expected to conduct themselves properly during health and lunch breaks, observe good table manners, and do the CLAY GO (Clean As You Go) principle.
- Learners are not to throw food or take food out of the cafeteria.
- Learners will be courteous to the cafeteria staff, using "Please" and "Thank You" is a must.
- The school cafeteria is for all PYCS personnel, parents/guardians, and learners.
- School cafeteria concessionaires are expected to implement the terms and conditions stipulated in their signed Memorandum of Agreement (MOA).
Suspension of Classes
- Classes in all levels at PYCS are automatically suspended when PAGASA declares Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal (TCWS) #1 in Isabela. (DepEd Order No. 37 s. 2022)
- Learners are advised NOT TO report to school when DepEd or LGU where the school is located, announces a general suspension of classes at 5:00 in the morning.
- The School Principal will release an official statement regarding the dismissal time if the announcement from DepEd or LGU where the school is located, made on or before 11:00 in the morning.
- In extreme case where rains are heavy, parents/guardian shall make the decision on whether or not they send their children to school, taking into consideration the health and safety of their children.
